Recap topic contents, then suggest next steps before/during/after reading this intro (prioritize the reader’s experience and navigational ease, top 3 references are specific, general, and address potential issues)

  1. topics here focus on intentional mezcal tasting. This isn’t the only way to drink mezcal (and it’s not how producers drink their own mezcales), but if you want to then this is the best place to share that with other pollinators.

  2. we’ve made the following posts to get you started on carrying out your own tastings: your first tasting: a beginner’s guide, Recognize the flavors, embrace the feelings, Mezcal Curiously Tasting Log free download, mc concepts 4 cs,

  3. tasting intentionally can make a mezcal experience more meaningful, even if the meaning is subjective and abstract. Meaning always has those components though, so they don’t diminish the importance of the pursuit. You’re also more likely to consider and respect a sip that you take slowly, which can propogate all the way to the producer especially if you measure the value of an experience by its outcome and not by its price.

  4. posting the results of your tasting here gives you a Gift of Nectar entry. Post either: a picture of your completed Mezcal Curiously Tasting Log dated within the calendar month, or notes that include at least the following: date of tasting, log # (how many mezcales have you written about?), producer, origin, agave/maguey, brand, at least 1 feeling, at least 1 flavor

  5. want to taste mezcal with other pollinators? see what’s happening in events + meetups, local topics, or the pollinator network. Nothing going on? make a post about possibly hosting your own and see what other pollinators think.

  6. Have a problem? Post in the Staff Quarters, or contact us directly for support.
