tasting intentionally can make a mezcal experience more meaningful, even if the meaning is subjective and abstract. Meaning always has those components though, so they don’t diminish the importance of the pursuit. You’re also more likely to consider and respect a sip that you take slowly, which can propogate all the way to the producer especially if you measure the value of an experience by its outcome and not by its price.
